This is a branding project at Portland State. The purpose of this project was to create and brand an imaginary beverage company. The Brewing Company is restaurant & brewery located in the D.U.M.B.O. (Down Under Manhattan Brooklyn Overpass) district of Brooklyn, New York. When founder and native New Yorker Jonny Patrick was on a business trip to Portland, he and his colleagues found themselves at a local micro-brewery. Jonny, unsure what to order, asked the waiter to bring him the most popular brew. He returned with a chilled pint full of a dark, and aromatic beverage and placed it on the cardboard coaster in front of Jonny. Jonny raised the glass to his lips, and his taste buds came alive as he took his first sip. It was like nothing he had ever experienced before. He looked to the barkeep and asked him "My good man, what is this magical drink?". The bartender looked at him and said: "It's an IPA bro.".
Hypography is a decorative display typeface that was created for a student project. The purpose of this assignment was to create an alphabet using abstract objects. The letterforms were designed using disected pieces of Michael Jordan's signature shoes. Each letter corresponds with the sequential numbered Air Jordan. The letter "A" was inspired by the original Air Jordan 1. The next letter "B" created using features from the Jordan II, "C" from the iconic Jordan III, "D" from Jordan IV, and so on. Each of the first twenty-six signature shoes has been transformed into the twenty-six letters of the alphabet.
Spoiler Alert Blocker
There is nothing worse than having your favorite program spoiled. For this project upgraded the Twitter mobile app with a Spoiler Alert Blocker setting. A couple of taps on your phone and Spoiler Alert Blocker will completely remove any tweets from your timeline that contain spoilers. I recreated the Twitter app using Sketch using IOS guidelines, and designed the Spoiler Alert quick-launch icon in Illustrator.
